This web site has been set up to help people access an affordable service in copying the sounds of vinyl LP records from their collection into a digital Compact Disc (CD) format.

For me it started from wanting to have the convenience of CD's but the sounds of my student record collection. I truly believe that there are many people like me who want to access again their well preserved records and tapes without having to change the sides every 20 minutes or so, but don't want to pay more than the cost of a brand new CD to get it.

So from starting off by sorting out my favourite LPs and telling a few of my friends and work colleagues how impressed I was with what I had achieved, the requests started coming in. Whereas my taste was more ZZ Top than Level 42, I'm not prejudiced, and managed to get a steady supply of material.

Unlike some other services that you may have investigated, my objective is to allow you to have access to the music or sounds which you may have wished to enjoy with the convenience associated with CD or mini disc portable devices. It is not a prime objective to profit at your expense.

Obviously it is necessary to cover the costs of materials. However, I do not believe many people wish to pay twice as much (for what is after all an edited copy of your recording) than the price a new CD costs on the high street.

I'll add a footnote in view of questions I have received.

If you can get an original CD recording of your record or tape for less than £5 (new or second hand) then buy it. I would if it was me.
